Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is a public research university in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Established in 1849, EMU is one of Michigan's oldest universities and has a rich history that dates back more than 170 years. The university has a beautiful campus with stunning architecture, lush green spaces, and several unique and interesting spots. One such place is the Bruce T. Halle Library, which has over 1.5 million print and electronic volumes, making it one of the largest libraries in the Midwest region. Additionally, the 21-acre lake in the center of campus, Ford Lake, offers a picturesque and serene environment for a leisurely stroll or romantic walk.Aside from the campus's beauty, EMU has made significant contributions to the history and culture of the city. For instance, the university helped to establish many of the local businesses, like the popular Ypsi Alehouse.
